In February and March 2023, the Comox Valley Recreation Commission completed strategic planning workshops to consider and review assessments and studies that have been completed, and identify priorities ahead.

The commission identified three key upgrades to move ahead and assigned timelines to see the planning work move forward. Those includes:

• Immediate: Field amenity upgrades and new artificial turf field
• Short Term: Expansion of Ice Facilities
• Medium Term: Addition of a 25m pool at Aquatic Centre.

There is significant assessment and study work ahead before any of these come to construction, but the priority projects will see necessary planning and review work begin, so that decisions can be made about these upgrades.
