Thank You For Participating

31 July 2023

Thanks again to the Craigdarroch residents who took the time to provide the CVRD with their thoughts and ideas for park facilities for the neighbourhood. Other than one phone call to parks staff all input was received through Engage Comox Valley. It is great to see residents embracing the opportunity to use this new tool to help direct decisions that will shape their neighbourhood and wider community. Although the opportunity to provide feedback through Engage Comox Valley has ended, residents are welcome to contact staff by phone or email. There is still plenty to be considered and decided so we invite you to stay connected and involved as we move forward.

What's Next?

CVRD parks staff will now work on putting some of the above feedback and suggestions into action. We will begin with putting together a plan to open more beach accesses and seek approval of the Province for improvements. This plan will include contacting the nearby property owners and working with them to address concerns around increased public use of the accesses. We will begin with Spindrift and Kalmar accesses. We will also plan to complete a biophysical report on Montrose Park. Items that may require substantial funds such as playground equipment or extensive planning such as a parking area at Argyle or a boardwalk trail at Montrose will be considered amongst other park priorities as staff develop work plans and budgets for 2024. Staff typically present the budget plan for discussion with the electoral area directors in January. Updates will be posted to the CVRD website. Questions or suggestions can be directed to communityservices@comoxvalleyrd.ca at anytime. Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts and ideas for park facilities for the Craigdarroch neighbourhood.
