The public comments received at the two Cumberland Climate Action Plan engagement events in February have been collated and are now available at engagecomoxvalley.ca. Highlights include:

• support for 2050 as the target to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions
• actions to reduce emissions from buildings, transportation, and waste
• protection of the urban forest and the forest surrounding Cumberland to increase Co2 uptake
• fire smart training for the community
• land use that reduces car dependence, such as a large grocery store in the Village
