August 2026: Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan receives third reading

August 13, 2026

The Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan has moved one step closer to completion, receiving third reading by the CVRD Board on August 11, 2026, following consideration of the public hearing record.

The bylaw is now in its final stage of the approval process and is expected to return for consideration of adoption on September 8, 2026.

A reminder that the public record is now closed following the closure of the public hearing on July 30, and any additional comments or feedback cannot be forwarded to the Directors. However, any correspondence that is received by staff in relation to this matter will be filed as part of the correspondence record.

Next Steps:

If adopted in early September, the plan will guide future decisions about growth, housing, servicing, transportation, environmental protection, coastal resilience, and community character in the Saratoga Beach area over the next 5 to 10 years.

The plan does not immediately change any existing land uses, approve specific developments, or require redevelopment. Future proposals and decisions would still need to follow applicable CVRD review and approval processes.
