Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan adopted

September 4, 2026

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) Board adopted the Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan on September 1, 2026.

The bylaw was able to be brought forward a week earlier from the planned adoption date of September 8, due to all legislative requirements having been met in August.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time, energy, questions, feedback, and local knowledge throughout the process. Your participation helped shape a plan that reflects many of the opportunities, concerns, and values that matter most to Saratoga Beach and the surrounding area.

The plan sets a long-term direction for the area. It will help guide future CVRD decisions about growth, housing, servicing, transportation, environmental protection, coastal resilience, climate adaptation, and community character.

For resident or property owners , there won’t be any immediate changes to how you use your property. The plan doesn’t approve specific developments or require anyone to redevelop, and it doesn’t guarantee new infrastructure or services.

Any future proposals, bylaw changes, permits, or projects will still need to go through the regular CVRD review and approval process.
