The project timeline has been extended so we can complete some additional studies. Feedback from the first round of public engagement showed that several community priorities, questions, and concerns need more detailed exploration before a draft Local Area Plan can be developed. These studies will give us the foundation needed to prepare a plan that reflects the community’s vision.

Once the studies are underway, this page will be updated with a revised timeline. The CVRD will return to the community in 2026 to share the study results and explain how they will guide the draft plan.

Thank you to everyone who participated. What we heard, including the importance of protecting the rural setting and natural environment, is shaping the updated schedule and next steps. We look forward to continuing this work together.
