June 2026: Draft Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan Available and Survey Available

June 4, 2026

Draft Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan Now Available

The Comox Valley Regional District has released the draft Saratoga Beach Local Area Plan for public review.

A Local Area Plan provides local guidance for how an area may change over time. It helps identify what should be protected, where limited change may be appropriate, and what issues need attention before future decisions are made.

The plan can guide future land use, transportation, parks, environmental protection, servicing, drainage, and community priorities. It does not approve development, change zoning, or commit funding. Any future project would still need to go through the required review and approval process.

At this stage, the CVRD is looking for feedback on the draft plan’s priorities, especially which actions should be implemented first. Your input will help staff refine the plan and confirm whether the proposed implementation priorities reflect community needs.

A drop-in open house was held on June 1, 2026, at the Oyster River Fire Hall. If you missed it, a short video is available that walks through the display boards from the event.

After the survey closes, CVRD staff will review the feedback, revise the draft plan where needed, and bring the plan forward for CVRD Board consideration.
