The City of Courtenay will be install six new dedicated pickleball courts in Lewis Park.

On December 10, 2025, Council approved the exciting project. Next steps include detailed design in 2026 with an anticipated date of construction in 2027, subject to the receipt of applicable permits. This project is support by the Pickleball Needs Assessment carried out in 2025. The addition of pickleball courts will further strengthen Lewis Park as a centralized community sports destination, alongside its tennis courts, recreation centre, outdoor pool, skatepark, water park, and sports fields.

This project aligns with the City's Official Community Plan, Parks and Recreation Master Plan and Implementation Strategy.
