Updated Schedule for Balmoral Avenue (Stewart Street to Pritchard Road):

• Storm upgrades (Town of Comox infrastructure) (August)
• New curb and street lighting on south side (August)
• New curb on north side (August)
• Re-paving the road (September)

Why is work taking so long on this section of Balmoral Avenue?

Initially, work on the sewer forcemain was scheduled to be completed in June 2024. Unfortunately, due to some re-engineering work on the sewer forcemain project there was a delay. The engineering was resolved and the work progressed on the forcemain.

In our original schedule for this block, crews would have come in May -June for sewer forcemain work, left and come back again in August to complete work on the Town of Comox infrastructure. Due to the delay in the sewer forcemain work, the schedule changed, and crews stayed on-site to continue work and complete the upgrades to the Town of Comox infrastructure.

Driveway access (properties on Balmoral Avenue): Wacor will be issuing driveway notices to properties 14 days and 48 hours prior to any impacts to driveway access. There will be traffic control at Stewart Street and Pritchard Road intersections to ensure safety of residents with heavy machinery working on Balmoral Avenue.

Nautical Days!

Work will be pausing for For Nautical Days. From July 31 – August 5 there will be a full stop to all work and all machinery will be removed. On August 6, machinery will be returned, and work will re-commence.
