News Release: Closure of Strathcona Crescent and Corker Avenue at Back Road, June 9, 2025

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), as part of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, is required to close Strathcona Crescent and Corker Avenue at Back Road starting on Monday, June 9, 2025 (MAP 1). This traffic pattern change will make the eastern end of Back Road past McDonald Road a no through road. Additional signage will be installed on Back Road prior to McDonald Road to inform drivers of this traffic change.

The Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project has been monitoring traffic speed and volumes along the Back Road corridor at various locations. Due to the volume of vehicle traffic using Strathcona Crescent, the closures are required as per the Traffic Management Plan (TMP).

It is estimated that the road closures of Strathcona Crescent and Corker Avenue will be in place until the fall of 2025.
