Comox Road Construction Update: Temporary Road Construction

28 March 2025

Due to construction for the new sewer forcemain on Comox Road some archaeological work is required to take place prior. To continue to accommodate two lanes of traffic on Comox Road, we are required to create temporary roads in the public right-of-ways on the north and south side of Comox Road in front of 3035, 3125 and 3210 Comox Road.

Work will be conducted in three phases. During Phase 1 a temporary road will be built up on the south side of Comox Road (MAP 1). Work on Phase 1 is estimated to start April 1, 2025.

During Phase 2 traffic will be diverted around the archaeology work in the centre of the road (MAP 2). Phase 3 will have traffic diverted into the right-of-way on the north side of the road (MAP 3). Work for all phases is estimated to be complete by the middle of May.

The traffic will remain in the pattern illustrated in MAP 3 until the project is complete, estimated to be in September 2025.

Work hours are from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
