Let’s Talk Parks and Trails!

With our community, the Town of Comox is developing its first Parks and Trails Master Plan (PTMP) to guide how we improve our parks and trails over the next decade and beyond.

Comox is a special place and our residents love to get outside and have fun! Hiking, biking, playing, swimming, relaxing, healing, and connecting all happen in our amazing parks and trails. A comprehensive master plan will guide the delivery of an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable parks and trails system for our future. The Master Plan community engagement process launched this spring (2024), and we want to hear from you!

The Comox Parks & Trails Master Plan will:

  • Engage broadly with the community and incorporate your input and local knowledge
  • Explore the current landscape of parks and trails systems in Comox
  • Develop a vision and goals for the future systems
  • Outline recommendations and actions to achieve positive change for the next 10+ years

What’s the process?

The Park and Trails Master Plan will occur over three phases. At each phase, there will be opportunity for your input and feedback through events, online surveys, and activities. We anticipate the process to be complete in winter 2024/2025. We look forward to hearing from you!

Community Engagement

We want to hear from you!

Creating a successful PTMP will require broad involvement and input. Through this process, the Town will work with K’ómoks First Nation, interest groups, and community members.

Opportunities to be involved and share your input through April include:

  • Community Open House – Join us Thursday, April 11 at the d’Esterre Seniors’ Centre (drop-in between 4:30 – 6:30 pm).
  • Pop-up Events – Through April we will be popping up in our parks and malls, meeting you where you are at. Follow the project page or social media for details.
  • Community Survey – Share your input and ideas through April 28 (available online and at events). Survey is closed April 28, 2024.
  • Parks & Trails Map Activity – Add a comment to the online interactive map below, or at community events.

Couldn't make any of the events? Click here to view the Phase 1 Engagement Display Boards.

What's Next?

Your input will inform draft directions for the Parks and Trails Master Plan. This summer, we will check back in with the community on what we heard and gather your input on the draft directions.
